Strategy/Design Session

After our efforts at the mini-scrimmage at Massey on the weekend, we decided to have a proper design/strategy session to figure out what we’re going to do with our two robots. After a three hour discussion session, we decided to rebuild Bravo completely, and we might rebuild Zulu as well. Below are some photos of us and our facilities here …

Bravo and Zulu update

We have a college practice session at Massey tomorrow, so we’ve been working hard since summer school exams finished on Wednesday to get both robots ready for driving. Here are some photos of us working and of the robots, and a video of us testing macros on the new controllers. [photoxhibit=5]

2nd Kristin Invitational Scrimmage

Kristin School hosted their 2nd invitational scrimmage for the Round-Up season yesterday, after the Pinehurst scrimmage was cancelled due to clashes with the Lower North Island Regionals in Palmerston North. While many teams declined the invitations, we had six robots competing from Lynfield Robotics, Lakebots (Westlake Girls), and K-Force (Kristin School). The scrimmage was run by AURA (Auckland University Robotics …

Testbot

We’re currently waiting for some pretty essential Delrin Bearings (we can’t really build without them), so we made a small testbot for driver practice (especially with holonomic drive) and to see how fast the robot would be without an arm. Here’s a photo, and two videos!

Computer Aided Design

When we have our design sessions, we brainstorm different ideas and discuss as a group in what direction we should move. But sometimes it’s a bit difficult to visualise some of our ideas. To do that we use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to digitally assemble all of our parts before we do it for real. The software that we are …

Meeting Minutes Archive

We don’t like having meetings just for the sake of having meetings, so our meetings are not regular – only when they are actually needed. Most of the time, decisions are made outside of meetings, on one of our many collaboration platforms or in person. 15/11/2011 – Executive Meeting – Download 18/10/2011 – Annual General Meeting (AGM) – Download 28/08/2011 …
